About Us

Since 2002 CFOAS has been supporting families living in Clonakilty Lodge. Through our dedicated and experienced team we offer a wide range of services and projects which are aimed at helping people who are living through the International Protection application process. Our work is partly funded by the HSE (Section 39 Grant Scheme) and partly by both state and philanthropic funding allocations which we match to specific projects and initiatives.

Our group puts friendship and community at the heart of what we do. We have many activities and groups to support children of all ages throughout both term time and school holidays, and we provide ongoing assistance to adults who wish to take courses, who are hoping to find employment, or who simply need moral support during this difficult and uncertain time. We celebrate with those who have successful applications and try to relieve the stress of those who are still waiting for a decision.

We work hard to make families feel part of the Clonakilty community: helping children to enrol in sports clubs,  linking teens with the local youth groups, and organising a wide variety of arts, music, gardening and social events which often take place in our lovely community garden opposite Clonakilty Lodge.
