Support Clonakilty Friends
Why Support Us?
We are a small organisation staffed by three part-time facilitators and a team of approximately 20 volunteers. We offer practical day to day support and friendship to families who are seeking International Protection in Ireland and who have had to flee their countries of origin. There are usually in the region of 35 families living in Clonakilty Lodge and just under half the 95 residents are aged under 18.
The support we provide is about welcoming people to our area and offering them the hand of friendship. We offer a number of different social projects including music, arts and crafts, yoga, homework club and community garden in an effort to make their stay in Clonakilty as enjoyable as is possible. We also help people to access services provided by our colleagues in partner organisations so that no opportunity is missed… if we can’t help, we know someone who can.

*We are always most grateful to welcome private donations. Many of our projects are funded by grant allocations which we apply for throughout the year but there are also events – such as Christmas and holiday activities which benefit from the generosity of private gifts. We absolutely guarantee anonymity to donors, and commit to using all such donations to directly benefit the residents of Clonakilty Lodge.
